Peningkatan mutu pendidikan di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) khususnya SMKN 1 Baureno menjadi fokus perhatian utama. Untuk itu sekolah mengadakan Uji Sertifikasi Kompetensi bersama Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi (LSP) dalam rangka Program Bantuan Pemerintah melalui SMK yang mendapatkan Sertifikasi Kompetensi Siswa Tahun 2021. LSP adalah lembaga pelaksana kegiatan uji kompetensi yang memiliki izin atau mendapatkan lisensi dari Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP).
Salah satu lisensi BNSP adalah Uji Sertifikasi Kompetensi (USK) siswa melalui Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi pihak ke-1 (LSP-P1). Salah satu upaya sinkronisasi dan koordinasi untuk menciptakan link and match antara SMK dengan DU/DI. Dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas dan daya saing siswa.
Menjelang pelaksanaan Uji Sertifikasi Kompetensi melalui LSP-P1. Pihak panitia LSP-P1 beserta asesor dan peserta (Asesi) pelaksana USK melaksanakan pengisian form atau data siswa (Asesi) untuk melengkapi formulir biodata uji sertifikasi kompetensi. Adapun formulir yang dibagikan sebagai berikut; formulir APL 01 dan APL 02.
Formulir APL 01 adalah formulir biodata calon peserta uji kompetensi. Sedangkan APL 02 adalah formulir Skema yang di pilih dan Asesmen mandiri untuk peserta uji kompetensi.
SMK yang sudah menjadi LSP-P1 ditetapkan BNSP dengan beberapa kriteria. Pertama, SMK tersebut harus sudah terakreditasi. Kedua, sudah menerapkan kurikulum yang berbasis pada standar kompetensi. Ketiga, harus memiliki tenaga asesor, yaitu seseorang yang memiliki kualifikasi untuk melaksanakan asesmen dalam rangka asesmen manajemen mutu dalam sistem lisensi Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi.
Uji sertifikasi Kompetensi di SMK melalui LSP-P1 diharapkan selain untuk mengukur pencapaian kompetensi siswa selama menempuh pendidikan di SMK. Juga sebagai media evaluasi sekolah dalam rangka peningkatan mutu secara berkesinambungan. Selanjutnya, Sertifikat Kompetensi yang dimiliki lulusan SMK itu bisa diakui dunia usaha dan dunia industri (DU/DI) dalam proses rekrutmen tenaga kerja terampil.
Oleh karena itu, siswa lulusan SMKN 1 Baureno juga memerlukan sertifikat kompetensi agar mudah diserap di DU/DI. Apalagi di era serba digital ini semua harus bisa apa saja.
